First time posting hope I'm in the right spot.
Can't connect power to the 4 story house plot. Even if I connect to power before it is built.
The building covers part of the electric pole.
The pole power attachment is turned inwards instead of facing directly forward.

Edit: I've been two days trying to get these to have power at Taffington Boathouse and nothing.
I just tried building this at Outpost Zimonja and it has power there.
Same generators, same pole types.
Why won't this work at the boathouse?

Most likely not the right place.

What plot is it? What's the full name and what add-on does it come from?

Pretty sure I never seen a 4 story building in base SS2.

If I had to guess I'd say it's probably from @VersusXV but it's a pure guess right now.

But if we can get the addon it's from then we can ask the right person.

I've been doing some more digging. At the moment I think it's a power problem, not the house.
For some reason, the wire appears attached to the pole but there is no power at the pole.
I've put lights on each pole, some light up, some don't.
The pole in question I deleted. Placed a new pole close to a pole that works, wired it, put a light on it.
The light lit fine. Moved the pole to where it needed to be. 20 feet or so.
Nothing in the way, Clear view from pole to pole.
The light goes out, pole doesn't have power again.
It's pole 03. I've had problems with other poles, thought this one was good.
Distance isn't very far apart. Don't want the cable to sag too much.
Is there a maximun distance from the generator? Or a maximum number of poles in a run?
This is at Taffington. Generator on one side. This problem on the other side of the property. But this isn't a very big area.
It's SS1 with the 3 mega packs.

Unfortunately on SS1 plots require directly wired power, via the attached power pole. On Sim Settlements 2 you can power it with a separately placed nearby power conduit/power pole because plots now work with radiated power, or take advantage of the much faster refresh(it's quite literally 100x faster) to scrap the stage model to be able to more easily wire it and then refresh to restore it.

Wiring it can be a bit awkward after the stage model has appeared. On SS2 it's moved to 3x3 Residential.

This sounds like potentially corrupted power grid. I would try out the power grid tools from R2K Gameplay Mods, it might be able to solve it or be able to identify corrupted power grids or multiple power grids. Another possible symptom would be if no new objects are powered even if they clearly should be like if you build any generator and any vanilla wired object which requires 1 or more power such as the Recruitment Beacon or Siren, wiring them only to each other. Power grid corruption can happen if wired objects while already wired to the power grid are removed via script although there might be other causes too.

Another thing to try, although you probably already tried this, would be building an extra Fusion Generator even if it shouldn't be strictly necessary so that there's definitely a surplus of power output, if there's not enough total power for everything connected then some of them will not light up.

Thank you all for your replies. I never mentioned it but in Sanctuary I have two 500 generators (spread out). But at the top, bar shows zero power. Before the problem, a 100 was way too big. I have rewired that place many times. I'll try those power grid tools.
Thank you,
I'm almost to the point of setting little generators at each place that needs power.

power grid tool tells me there is no problems either place

Hey (not Hay) everybody,
Here is what I did as a workaround. Never figured out how to fix the problem so I did this instead.
Working real nice so far. Not sure what it will F up if anything.
I decided to place a generator wherever needed instead of one big generator with power poles.
But I don't like the vanilla low powered noisy generators.
I found this. Switchbox Generator.
Many ways to configure. I set this up with 30 power and radiating power.
When I build something I plop this on the construction pole. Connect wire and Shazam!
Done.

thank you all for your help.
SS1 & 2 are fantastic mods. Having a lot of fun with them Thank you. I've always loved city building games.
