Not a bug 2.0.1 unable to place turrets on pre-existing roofs

Not quite sure if this is a bug or not, but this is pretty much the only mod I updated today (there was one other, I'll be querying it as well), and it's since today I've been experiencing this.

Simply put, I'm no longer able to build anything on the roofs of buildings. In most settlements this has been my go to spot for initial defenses, but today I've not been allowed to do so. This appears to be happening in all settlements so far. The only real exception has been the drive-in where I can place turrets on the flat roof section between the min building and the fence.

I'm not expecting this addon pack to be the cause, but it is one of only two things I updated today.

Hi ScytheKnight,
I'm afraid I don't see how it could possibly be this mod - it only adds the regular type SS-plots, no new scripts in this update that could cause that behaviour. It's also cleaned from wild edits with FO4edit. Weird!
I'll check in our games to make sure we can place things anyway.
What was the other mod you updated?

I thought perhaps this was how the mod and addon's were? I have never been able to use surface snap on any SS with placeanywhere ... firebarrels on the plot decking like next to a bar, turrets on roof... etc... again, I thought this was normal like other mods that provide prefabs and need a placing mod to put anything on their surfaces...

In vanilla, no mods at all there are almost no or very limited points on a roof of a pre-existing structure for placement. unless its a workshop kit its not designed to be built upon or around and no Bethesda support has ever been given. It is through hope, and praying to Atom that we manage to clip/glitch/slide a torrent ontop of a roof and have its outline turn green. Place Anywhere or using another glitch method to solve your problem. Or maybe im missing something, but it sounds liek your issue is you want to place objects on a surface thats not ment to have objects placed on it in the first place.

Not sure if for me... honestly, I haven't played vanilla for so long I doubt I could even recall. My comment was only that since I have used placeeverywhere for so long, I haven't been concerned with such issues... nor would I even be aware of an issue. Thanks kevbal.

I've never been able to place any item on an SS plot (with the exception of MrJoseCuervo's). I've had to use PlaceAnywhere to be able to actually do it.
