I use mod organizer 2.
I finally decided to switch to the three-in-one.
I deleted all three mods in mo2 and installed the three-in-one.
Now when I load my save, I get an error complaining that the save depends on rotc and ir.
Do I just ignore that? Or should I restore my backup and go back to...
So just a followup post like I promised..
Scrap Everywhere was the culprit. I have all of my graphics settings back to ultra again, ran sim settlements performance wizard to set sim settlements options to ultra, and getting 30 fps +, where I was getting 10-12 before.
Happy happy happy
I had this happen to me in Jamaica Plains and also in Sanctuary.
I believe out of the box sim settlements ignores the build limit. I wonder if you just leave it alone for a bit if it will not correct itself?
I went the route of using "scrap everything" to delete some things like grass, trash...
Thank you for the response Kinggath. I'm giddy, this is like meeting a celebrity!
But I'm a little red-faced, too (embarrassment, not anger.)
I was re-reading the wiki article linked in the top post, and discovered that I missed something significant during my first readthrough.
The Scrap Mod...
All of a sudden my framerate has dropped from 40fps + to about 12-15fps.
It happened right as I entered the Fort to find Kellog, and sadly has persisted after completing that quest. I had topped off the scrap on several settlements, and I remember seeing a lot of plot upgrade messages.
Things...

BTW the last IDEK's update makes it possible for it to emulate a communication station, which is really nice!
Perhaps I'm too...
You can turn off auto update, and then not launch f4 from within steam.
Just fire up steam (so auth works) but launch f4 either directly from the folder on your hard drive or using a shortcut to it.
Kind of a pain, but the only option right now to control when upgrades happen.
I turned off auto updates in steam. I don't update until f4se is updated.
Kind of a happy accident actually.. I turn off auto updates for all of my games because I have to pay for bandwidth. So I only update when I'm at the office.
Long story. Summary: AT&T lied to me and I didn't figure it...
Noice!
I've only recently started playing F4, and only installed sim settlements a few days ago.. Not even had a chance to play with sim settlements yet. Sim settlements is such a cool mod to start with ; the fact that it improves game performance even if you aren't using it to build...
