What are the requirements to have the main story factions join you in Under One Banner?
I usually stop playing the main quest just before the point of no return so that I keep access to all the factions. Do I need to complete the game with one of the factions?

I've tried both the Castle and now Oberland station, but both have been stuck at this stage for 30+ mins. What am I waiting for here? I'm not even sure what's supposed to be happening.
WSFW now automatically destroys corrupt power grids when it detects them (which is great for mitigating crashes), but it does so silently. Considering this needs to be manually fixed and often totally breaks the functionally of a settlement, it would be nice to see a notification when this happens.

The level 3 basic power plant generates ~75 power. So the use case seems to be that you need more than that at a settlement, don't have a settler with higher int available, and have that much surplus power elsewhere. I'm not saying it will never happen, but it seems pretty niche.

Why would I want to set these up instead of just building power plants at each settlement? Having a settler assigned to a power transfer plot and making sure I have another one in range (which also needs a settler) seems like a waste of resources when I can have those settlers just generating...

I'm not willing to roll back, unfortunately. I unlocked that quest ages ago in this playthough. I'll try a manual install and see if that helps though.
I'm trying to resolve issues with the computer research quest failing to work, but having to wait for the plot to advance is a real pain every time I want to roll back and try something new.

It seems that the squad members can build up rads, and eventually drop dead at 1000. There's no indication, other than checking with the console, and I don't know of a ingame way to remove rads from NPCs.
If you have one with you for long enough, it's basically just a time bomb.
