Question Incorrect number of beds?

Mainly occurring at Taffington Boathouse for me, though it may not be related to location. I've counted and recounted the number of fully-built residential plots, which should be 17, but it says there are only 15 beds (and thus shows a warning in the WORKSHOPS section of the Pip-Boy). All settlers are assigned to residential plots, and the widget shows a full house bar. I've run Shelter Fix, Refresh Local Plots, and even Rebuild Local Data, and none of them restore the correct number of beds (though the number will fluctuate between 14 and 15 when running the first two). Using getav 334 on the workbench returns GetActorValue: Bed >> 15.00. Using setav 334 17 on the workbench updates the beds count on the HUD to 17, though it changes back to 15 upon exiting and reentering workshop mode.

I find that it's it's a waste of time unless you have a massive case of OCD. Settlements fill up with people, and soon they start complaining that they don't have enough beds. If they can build a settlement, they should be able to start building their own beds and shelter.

i'd avoid console commands - why don't you try to rebuild local data from the options in your pipboy or terminal? i've used that in the past to resolve what i thought was a discrepancy with this metric.

They have though. The plots are built, and all of the settlers are assigned to them. The game just thinks there are fewer beds than there actually are for some reason.

The beds in two of your 17 Residentials aren't counting or registering as "beds."

Drop two vanilla beds somewhere in the settlement and then see which of your two dirt farmers start sleeping in them. Provided you know where these same dirt farmers are suppose to be sleeping, this should reveal which plots' beds aren't counting.

Regardless, two vanilla beds will fix your numbers and let you get back to playing the game

Sometimes you just got to spike the punch to keep the party moving.
