Question Minutemen Liberator Faction Pack not behaving as the mod author describes

Hi everyone,

I am having a strange situation where the Minutemen Liberator faction pack is showing up when I build a War Desk, but is listed as being behind a quest unlock. The mod page states that it is not behind a quest unlock. But, the mod author also says he's stopped working on the mod due to not having access to his computer since late last year. Thus, I'm wondering if there's something in the latest Conqueror update that has created this unintended consequence.

I've encountered this on several playthroughs, which rules out a bug on a single save. I haven't yet got to reinstalling mods or the game, but since that takes about two days to do on my internet connection, I thought I'd enquire if anyone had any alternative suggestions first.

honestly, if the mod has been abandoned by its author, then it's never going to be fixed up to remain compatible with conqueror and/or simsettlements.

you're best off starting a new game without that mod as part of your load order. you're in for a world of pain and broken games otherwise.

Well now, I don't know that it's been abandoned. Only that thanks to the current wave of travel bans and closed borders and such, the mod author is without access to a computer from which to continue updating it. There is information on the mod page which suggest he very much intends to go back and update it later.

My question is literally aimed at trying to find out if anyone knows of anything in the last update to Conqueror that may have caused this, or if I'm going to have to wait until the mod author gets back to it. I do understand that if nobody can think of anything, or maybe even if they can, there's nothing anyone but the mod author can do about it. I just wanted to see if anyone else had encountered a similar issue, even with other faction packs, or if there are other things to bear in mind here.

my thought still stands.

if the mod hasn't been updated, while conqueror has, and now that faction pack doesn't work correctly then thats going to be problematic and your best option is to remove it from your load order, and start a new game. if/when its updated again in the future, put it back and start a new game again.

you could consider rolling back simsettlements/conqueror etc. to an older version and see if that helps you to get the faction pack to work as it did previously. However that too may require you to start a new game with the older version of the mod files.

SS conqueror is being updated in such a way that faction packs remain entirely functional regardless of their creation dates. Retrocompatibility is essential to the team. Non updated faction packs simply miss out on the new features offered by the most recent updates such as special units but this should certainly not affect how other core features behave. If Conqueror ever breaks faction packs, fixes will surely be provided without pack authors having to make the change themselves.

As a result, it is unlikely that Conqueror has created the issue. Yet, if it is apparent that it has, the team would fix the problem.
