Question Ack-Ack isn’t leaving!

i have been going along fine with SSC. Had a few hiccups, it happens. But now I seem to be stuck with Ack-Ack after I cleared out Thicket Excavations. She just follows me around and shoots at whatever I’m shooting at. It breaks my story in my head when I hear ‘Wassup?’ and ‘Heyyo!’ Every few minutes.

This happened to me just last night. I've rolled back a save and will try it again.

Do you have any mods that effect companions? @Phil_T_Casual has suggested Conqueror needs to go below any companion mods to avoid conflict.

This is a mod conflict, go back to a save before you started the quest and move Conqueror below any other mod that changes/adds companions.

No mods that affect companions, as I’m only rolling with dogmeat this go around. Only SKK mod I have is the junk scrapper one. Also Ack^2 just was killed by Swan, so I hope she isn’t necessary later.
 
Hmmm, don't know what's going on here as she's protected so the player should be the only one able to kill her.

Don't play much more on that save @AkumaKuma otherwise you might have to roll back a long way as I imagine she will be featured in upcoming content.

Best get the boss to take a look at this one. @kinggath


I thought she couldn’t be killed, but I was wrong. I stood there and stared at her body for a bit and thought ‘Man, this is going to haunt me later, isn’t it?’ So I hope she doesn’t become essential later because I put a lot of time in after that. I did save before Swan though.
 
She is only protected during the quest. Anyone running into this issue where she doesn't leave your side after the quest should roll back and try again. I've looked into this quest and there's nothing making her stay as a companion, and I have never been able to replicate this - which makes me think mod conflict or load order issue.

Oof. Well, I guess my next question is will she be essential down the road for anything? If not, that saves me undoing roughly 20 hours of game play since the initial quest.
 
I had this problem (Ack-Ack staying on after the quest) on top of vassal fights restarting after a cap (I saw Kinggath thinks it might be a problem with defending turrets in another post) so last night I finally ended up rolling back to 4.11a of conqueror for now just so I can continue playing. I had started this new game fresh with 4.12. I'll see if I can take over vassals properly and give Ack-Ack a spin if her bounty pops up. I just never had an Ack-Ack problem in my 4.11 game, and never had settlement attacks start back up again after the cap. I am not blaming 4.12. As Kinggath says it's probably a load order or conflict but I can't figure out how to fix it atm. I just will use 4.11 to get past Ack-Ack's quest and then try and go back to 4.12.

I’m on Xbox and I don’t think I can roll back like that =\
 
I get this as well. I'm on the PC I have no companion mods but I do have Better Locational Damage. Tried doing it multiple times but I have not tried loading Conq after BLD since im afraid that will break shit even more. xD
Buut I'm gonna give it a try and see if that solves the problem.

Edit: Oh and the other day when the update came out I updated mid save. Been having trouble with two other quests but I solved those with console commands.
 
I have the same problem. I use Amazing Follower tweaks, fully importet and the dismissed her with the aft item not the dialog option. She then returned to olivia station. However, as far as i understand aft messes with the npc ai, so i don't know if she will be working in a future update of conquerer.
