Vanilla Bug - Unsolved Secret Vault game freeze after molerat aggro

Okay, this one has me baffled.

I am in the secret vault next to Vault 81, and I can auto save as I enter the vault. I move through, killing mole rats and evtentually meet Curie.

Here are the odd things that I cannot, for the life of me resolve.

1. At a certain point moving through the vault, I can no longer save/autosave. If I attempt to do that the game hangs and the only way out is to terminate the task and start over. I believe this occurs directly after the molerats aggro my character and/or companion.

2. When I encounter Curie, I get to the point where she opens the door, but then she never completes her interaction and gives me the serum. Instead, she stands there, quiet. To provoke her into giving me the serum I can move to the elevator back to Vault 81, which prompts her to ask where I am going. when I return to her, she completes her speech and gives me the serum.

3. If I attempt to save at this point, or, if I attempt to leave via the elevator, the game will get stuck, and I have to close it down and start over.

I've tried messing about with a few things to see what I can/cannot do.

1. I cannot coc to any external location. If I attempt this, the game hangs.
2. i cannot go back the way I came and re-enter Vault 81 that way. If I do, the game hangs.

I've not added/removed any mods that can interact with or change Vault 81 or the secret vault. I have no mods that change companions.

I went to afkmods (makers of the UFO4P) to see if they had any information on this issue, and there is this thread;

There is some analysis that seems to indicate scrapping mods (I don't use them), and possibly SimSettlements - but it is extremely tenuous, which is why I'm posting on these forums, to see if anyone has encountered such an issue previously, and looking for some help trying to isolate and diagnose the issue.

Anyone out there seen anything like this in their game?
 
In the post I linked a workaround that I tried and found to work was to issue the console command tDetect and disable the AI of the molerats and turrets and robots. This allows me to go directly to Curie and complete the mission.
Does anyone know if there is a part of SimSettlements, or perhaps an addon, that interfaces with, or manipulates the AI of mole rats which has an accidental impact in this location?
 
If you still have a save from before this issue, can you test disabling your addon packs to see if it lets you get by? SS doesn't edit anything vanilla - other than placing a handful of objects in the world.

I can't say the same for the addons though...
 
I had a similar issue, though not there, and I’m pretty sure it came down to CC stuff. It was a while ago, but I think it was the power armor.
