No Response What is the advantage to use residential plots

I thought that residential plots generated taxes. Right now I do not see an advantage to using and actually wasting my sensors for no benefit over a regular vanilla bed. Am I missing something?

They do provide taxes. I don't know if the rates have been change, and can't speak for modded residential, but base ones provide .5/1/1.5 over the three levels as far as I know.

I also think the default Sim Settlements requires them. That commercial properties are limited by Residential plots and their level.

Wasting Sensors, not really a worry, considering how much i have built and how many I have left.

The no benefit over vanilla beds, well I would say they have a huge amount.
1) The suckers - sorry settlers build it themselves.
2) With addons, there are a vast array of different kinds, I just began to find myself building in certain areas, 4 settlements I think, just so I could try them all out.
3) Some plots just look so, whats the word now, cool? sick? tastic? .........well they look really good.
4) And it would be hard to build them like that yourself without spending hours of flicking through a well thought out menu and placement system.

Wasting sensors...
Considering that we pick up 100+ sensors in Concord, our first three-four cities ought to be well-covered. (I personally find myself running out of wood long before running out of initial sensors.)

I like this re the well-thought-out menu/placement system. ;) Heheheh!

Well its such a dream to spend at least 10 minutes flicking through so much then watching Fallout 4 place them in every direction, except the one you want.

To be honest, I have never run out and I think the mayor Bunker, you find more?
Easy to make, or console cheat the materials (shh I didn't say that), just:

Build Build Build and Worry Worry Worry NOT

@GA_Darkerside Last night I figured out a very, very fast way of not worrying about much resources or scrolling through the menu so much. It’s kind of embarrassing actually - sometimes I’m just damned slow. :blush

Yes but all my residential plats are collecting 0 taxes. Is that an error do I need to change a setting
It's been reported as a bug but doesn't happen to everybody, so might be tricky to fix. Unmodded games seem to not experience this, so that makes tracking down the cause more difficult.

As @VersusXV has said, but however have you got them set?

And of course you can change each one as well

Alright alright! lol

Begin your build as normal, setting down the basic structure (this is not blinging anything as you go - base structure only).

When you want floor-piece X or wall-piece Y that you’ve already placed down:

* select and move to where you want it
* snap it into position (don’t complete the move)
* clone piece (you do have a shortcut key set up?)
* move piece to snap in next location and repeat

When done, cancel the move and it snaps back to original location.

Saves time and the cloning is free. (In testing I cloned 20 laser-turrets at Sanctuary - only had the resources for 9.)

I don't which of kind of makes me sad considering how many times I played the game and have no clue how to

Guess what :)

That does it. Last night I tried to make a video of how to do some of this stuff - the audio was completely f’d up. Today I go hunting for a better microphone.

Note that I’m on holiday in 2 days time so the quality is gonna be real bad.

When testing this, have you tried leaving the settlement & returning via Fast Travel?

After verifying that Taxes in the holotape is set to ON, can you try Fast Travelling to any destination(as long as it's not very close as the settlement's cell may remain loaded, like if it's Triangle of Death such as Sanctuary & you Fast Travel to either Red Rocket, Abernathy, V111)

I just tested this, leaving & returning has solved it on my heavily modded game! Thanks @Whisper!

As @VersusXV has said, but however have you got them set?

This is a really good point! I suspect now that you mention it, when automated is selected in wizard that taxes might default to Off. Perhaps for New Users selection? Perhaps it might default to OFF for Low Preset, to further reduce Scripting Load which can CTD weak systems & Xbox One?

If true, that would explain the bug reports!

So how often are Taxes supposed to deposited into the workbench? Since all I ever do in game is test stuff I usually console command for 100,000 caps, Cheat Holotape for 200 of every shipment, give every perk & just play in TGM. But I feel like making a note to try this the next time I'm in game. I pick Returning User & Automated & Ultra Settings, so I'll first check if Taxes is on for me(I haven't changed any settings) - Taxes have defaulted to ON for me.

Looks like your soul is mine :)

Taxes are on. Only option is on or off. No where can I set tax levels or adjust what is taxed by how much.
Have you tried Fast Travelling away & back(assuming at least a couple days have already elapsed with plots having already been built)?

I tried to test this on my game, only thing I noticed was that the workbench didn't get caps till I left & returned. Holotape has "Tax Laws" option to set rates for each type. There is not a frequency option anymore but I am guessing that is intentional in order to manage script load. It seems daily or every other day from what I could see.

I tested in a new location, to ensure there wouldn't be caps already that could throw off any attempt to verify this
