When Freedom Calls failure to complete

Upon killing Preston and the others, When Freedom Calls successfully shows "FAILED: Talk to Preston" as the next quest step, but the quest does not automatically complete. Upon going outside and killing the raiders and deathclaw, it prompted me to return to Preston, while still showing the previous "FAILED:" objective. I was able to complete the quest using the setstage console command without issue, but it may be worth checking out if there is a trigger that can be set to automatically complete/fail the quest, just as some base game quests auto-complete/fail when killing the quest giver.

Same.
I think that the quest automatically tells you to Return to Preston after you kill the Deathclaw and "eliminate the threats in Concord" (or whatever that line is). It's probably very 'hard coded' as Preston is never supposed to be killed.

I had no issues moving past that. I just ignored it. It's still in my quest log but that's fine.

Perhaps this could be interfering with Jammer later though? Seems a common issue is after players start on the outpost portion, Jammer goes to the wrong settlement or otherwise misbehaves.

For me he is in Nuka World so.... I won't be seeing him again for a long time. :(

Yeah it's a minor thing at this point, just an unfinishable quest clogging up the log. :D

this is on purpose for now. kinggath stated during the live stream that he didn't want to auto fail freedom calls in case you wanted to use console commands to complete it successfully and get the experience.

I do have it set to fail the other objective to Report back to Preston in the next update. As Opposing Forces said, I opted not to fail the whole quest in case you want to continue it anyway via console command.

Once we flesh out the raider questline some more, I might change that, as we'll likely offer raider alternatives to the things you're missing out on via the Minutemen.
