Patch 3.4.1

I decided to take the plunge and use this update to switch to the 3-in-1. Works fine, but I do get the message that Industrial Rev and RotC are missing when I first load the game. Normal?

Yep - the game is looking for specific files - it doesn't know that they were blank.

You shouldn't get that warning again after you save that file with the 3-in-1.

What does Auto setting for Performance-Mulithreading do vs manually setting it to the new 30 thread limit? (on PC)

Saw mine was set to Auto and changed to 30 just in case. But does Auto mean it will just use whatever it currently needs up to the new maximum, auto detect what it thinks ought to be the max?

Auto means to let Sim Settlements decide. Right now that means 20, but as I learn more about what makes the game engine tick, I can adjust the formula and anyone using the auto setting will benefit from any changes I make.

The default generator in Vault 88 is now immune to maintenance costs
Excellent!! I gave up on the vault, with maintenance costs, realistic build times, and xbox limitations, it just became a money pit. I let it go into deficit and cleared everything out. :grin

Settlement start-up packs? (unsure of the naming) Now that is a Kingsend!!
I always hated having to trek halfway across the map, or more sometimes, to track down those damn components. Makes me feel a little stupid for not even thinking of a pack.

Many thanks King!!!! (insert the "I bow down to you" emoticon, or whatever they're called) :happy:happy

FYI, IDEK’s Logistics Station has had Settlement Creation Kits for a while (not to take away from this great addition :) ). The kit includes everything you need to setup a desk, beacon and Logistics Station.

Wait...What?
I've been through all those options many times and never seen anything like that. Would you direct me to it please?

On a side note;
How come we never see that overly buff individual that totes all those crates and barrels up to the second floor using those narrow stairs? :load:

The Settlement Creation Kit is made at the city desk. You’ll find it probably below all the new options to just create a desk that was added in the latest patch.

You are TOO GOOD at this King!!
I've NEVER understood how more often than not it's the "after the fact" content creators that end up really bringing the best out of the games we play. In the LONG TIME (since day 1) I've been playing the Fallout franchise, there have always been so many things I thought could have been done differently, better even. Since I've transitioned from console to PC (super late) I can barely imagine FO4 WITHOUT SS. With each patch you manage to add some other functionality or improvement to your own system and thereby ALSO improving upon theirs.

I hope you don't get poached or lose interest in it all! You and the team you've put together are really doing a service to the Beth brand by helping to keep interest peaked and/or renewed in a game that was in at least one case rated "definitely not worth beating again"...

Good stuff man!!

**sidenote**
ANNNNDDD to think you do this really for the love of it all... We pay these premium prices for the original games which are in many cases lacking things that ppl like yourself and others start creating RIGHT OUT OF THE GATE, yet the original studios didn't even include in shipping... (I guess there are reasons) With that said, It's beyond my limited knowledge of code writing and content creation and what exactly it takes to bring a game and its content to prime time. But what I DO KNOW is that its often mods/programs like SS that play a BIG role in whether or not I initially purchase any specific game in the first place. "How much playability and RE-playability can be extended out of the money I'm about to willingly drop on this disk or digital dl code?"

Thanks again for what you do! :drinks

Now I'm confused. Are you saying the creation kit has been at the desk for a while?
Reason I'm asking is I just did a bunch of testing with the gavel and the scrapping option to see which yielded more scrap. (on that, I always ended up with more scrapping myself )

Or am I more gone than I thought caused I used the drug plant (chem station) to craft the gavel instead of the desk? I just don't remember seeing the SCK option until yesterday morning.

edit: never mind. Looked at the SCK again and saw the [ILS] beginning the description.
I'm just gonna blame that damn incurable disease everyone gets. O,L,D.

Probably not as old as I am, but it happens to the best of us. :) Yea, the creation kit has been part of the Logistics Station setup as long as I've been using it...

There were 2 scenarios, now 3

1. Old - did not have IDEK Logistics addon, no option to craft settlement kit at city desk using Craft action

2. Old - have IDEK Logistics addon, can craft settlemetn kit at city desk using Craft action - takes resource mats to create so not free, can only craft 1x per game 24 hour day, and has enough so once used can create (1) power generator, a wire, and (1) radio beacon

3. New - Kinggath now built into core SS option or if also using IDEK Logistics addon, then both options

Hello! i seem to be having an issue with the packed city planners desk. it doesnt seem to want to deploy, ive tried moving it around in workshop mode and even reinstalled sim settlements to see if itd help but it still doesnt want to turn into a city planners desk

Anyone else getting more freezes and crashes after the last patch? My XBone has become rather unstable, and I've not changed anything. (I suspect a background, stealth patch from Bethesda for CC stuff, but that's my conspiracy twinge acting up.)

Setting max threads = 30 it really seems to have an impact on the script execution speed. I'm getting a lot of more messages at the corner, sometimes 3 to 5 messages appearing at the same second after sleeping on a bed. It seems to be working great! Thanks Kinggath and team for your amazing work.
