I get to where I have to fight him, he falls on the ground and just says "Alright I give up, what do you want?" and nothing..Ive tried sneaking up on him and pick pockeing the note, Ive tried sniping him, I tried using a stealth boy and just starting a convo with him (he shoots u then u shoot him once he falls down)...NOTHING can activate the dialouge...Is there a console command I can just skip this quest to completion? or am i not doing something? Ive read this is a ongoing bug for a while now and it still hasnt been fixed? why? i do not know...What I do want to know though is how to get passed this part..Its just one thing after another with this mod, if its not the CTD's its the bugged out quests....When its working its the best thing since sliced bread, sadly its SUPER buggy...PLEASE help!!!

UPDATE
So, this time i went up to him (as hes unloading bullets into my face) and i started beating him up with my fists (you might need to turn on god mode or Very Easy difficulty to survive the non stopp point blank bullets to the dome) and this time when he fell down the convorsation clicked on...NOW WE HAVE A NEWWWWWWWWWW PROBLEM...It tells me to read the note, I read the note and the quest doestn complete. all the steps are now grayed out and nothing happened LOL. WOW!!!! VERY VERY FRUSTRATING GUYS!!!:(

See: The Hunt for Grizzly
You should have received a new quest to talk to Father Edmund. The quest doesn't complete until later.

Latest patch, exactly the same problem. Grizzly goes down, my character adresses him and he asks, "what do you want?" Then nothing. No dialogue options, no progression, no note.

I finished that quest stage a number of times before without issues, running on previous patches.

I am running through Caleb's quest line with the new release to see if i run into the same issues.

Ok, I replayed with a minimal mod list, and The Hunt for Grizzly played out for me without issue.
What I did playing through this, was wait for the quest notifications to tell me the next quest objective to fight Grizzly, before engaging him, or talking to him, or reading the note.
What may be happening is that the quest stages are not being set, or progressing because the objectives are being completed before they come up.
Or there is a load order issue in your game, or a mod that is conflicting somehow.

Other test results:
I found while testing through The Hunt for Boris, that if I killed him before the quest objective notification came up "Kill Boris", or looted him before the quest notification came up that the quest failed to progress.

For the Hunt for Knifepoint, I found that the objective to Kill Knifepoint didn't complete in the quest log, and that resulted in the quest marker staying on Knifepoint even though I'd killed him, and that there was also a quest marker on Caleb in Concord. However, these things didn't impact completing the quest when I talked to Caleb.

I'll just add, this is another quest (Grizzly specifically) that I had problems with it completing properly when I was in Power Armor that had the "Tesla Coils" (damage everyone in melee range of you constantly) effect on it. That was breaking the dude so the dialog would never trigger - I guess because it meant mechanically we were still "in combat" with each other?

Ya, that makes sense, still doing damage/still in combat.

Same load order, same mod list, I had at the time when I was able to complete the quest. It may be, as you suggested, that Grizzly attacked and I shot him before the setstage was complete and moved on to the next stage.

I had a problem getting dialog to start with him after “killing” him. I dismissed Heather Casdin and then dialog proceeded as normal. (Known issue with Heather in case anyone didn’t know.)

I too am stuck with Grizzly. In my case, I got the quest "Fight Grizzly" from Caleb. Grizzly was immediately hostile. I defeated him and went back to Caleb. At the same time Jake's kidnapping triggered, so I don't know if that broke something in the chain of events. Caleb repeated his Grizzly quest dialog, and "Fight Grizzly" reappeared a second time in my Quest Log. I went back but he was still dead and the quest wouldn't progress.
I'm not using any companion mods and my only companion was Dogmeat. I also wasn't wearing Power Armor.

That's only triggered, if you completed "Picking Up the Pieces". In that case, Caleb shouldn't even be present, since the story has all of Concord's named settlers being out looking for the scrap you marked.

All i can tell you is that any problems that you have with SS2 is due to your load order, your mods and user error. Sim Settlements 2 is a flawless mod. Even if you have played with 100+ mods for months with no issues and then all a sudden issues start after Sim Settlements 2 is installed, just know its NOT SS2 but rather YOUR mods that are causing the problem.

Yeah sounds like my game must've messed up a quest trigger somewhere. OK, thanks.

:shokMan... I'm just always causing problems.

The simple fact is, mods can conflict with each other and cause problems, especially with something as massive as SS2 that does so much of its magic 'behind the scenes' where most players can't see what it's actually doing. That's why we ask for load orders and stuff, to check for those conflicts (since the list on the wiki isn't 100% complete), it isn't intended as a personal attack on you like you seem to have taken it.

I think i got the solution to finish this quest.

When im in range i shot him down without "Found and Fight Grizzly" quest progression update. Haha, typical sniper play.

When he's down the quest progression check and proceed to "Drill information" and the dialogue only, "Hey you!","Time out, what do you want?"

At this point i run away from point blank then sneak back to Grizzly when my status is hidden, tell my companion to stay.

Try to pickpocket him and it says "Grizzly already caught you" then proceed to talk to him and it turn into camera dialogue which is Grizzly tell me to find Edmund.

Make sense to me, because you can't have a dialogue with hostile person, someone forget to make a down person neutral.

But the quest still on my pip-boy even it's already completed.

If I remember this correctly, this quest stays for a while and completes with the next one. As long as you can progress, you're good. But things could have changed since this thread was made.
(I think the line from my character to "grill him" auto-fired, then he responds)
