I just noticed theres like a million addons for sim settlements, I know conqueror is new, but I don't want to be a raider or have all my settlements automatically inhabited. I don't have time to go through all the mods atm, so If someone could give a breakdown of any that I should definitely use for a first time go at Sim settlements thatd be awesome, thanks :)

The Mega packs year 1 and Mega pack year 2 will give you a good cross-section.

Also:

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/38663 - Pra, workbench plot
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/29250 - Coots, desks and workbenches
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/28945 - IDEK, supply lines

I don't want to spoil too much....

Add-on packs can be integrated at any time - they mostly just add plot variety. The last mod suggested by RayBo has some game-play effects: it's an alternate system for linking your settlements that doesn't have a perk requirement (and has a bunch of other features that make sharing resources between settlements easier).

I'd personally add Wasteland Venturers to the list too (has some really fun plots).
It comes in two parts that can be downloaded separately, or a 2-in-1 to keep your mod list a bit shorter. Each part has about 50 different plots.

This is the link to the part 2 and 2-in-1 https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/30081

:bye Everything @LittleNike suggested and my recommendations can be added at any time. Just don't later decide to remove them, that is "unless you roll back your save to a point before you installed them.

All the Sim Settlements are recommended. The add-on packs are all very good. I wouldn't want to exclude any one of the authors mods. Each one adds something unique to the experience and I love each one for what it is and what they add. :friends

Here's what I use:
(though the 2 Creation Club ones by Iztari I haven't yet had a chance to try out, been too busy sadly)

[♖ ADD-On Packs -♗- More Plots ♘]
[Plot Mega Packs]

hahahaha, @VersusXV really good point.

A plug also for all the work @WetRats did to document all the add-on packs on the Wiki!
