Hello everybody, new to Sim Settlements and the forum so not sure if this question has been answered before. I am very overwhelmed by the amount of mods that add items/decorations to the settlement workshop and am not sure what plays well and doesn't with SS. I was wondering what workshop mods are must have's keeping stability in mind along with playing well or complimenting Sim Settlements. Thank you for the help in advance

Hello,
It depends on how hands on you want to get really. If you just want to use SS to build all your settlement for you, nothing else is needed really.

If you want to build and add plots yourself there is no better add on mod than Workshop Rearranged it's the best building mod imo. It takes all the vanilla objects and improves them, drastically, it all also adds many useful objects.

I'd follow that up with Thematic and Practical it has that real scrappy vanilla style that I love.

As I have been doing cities, I haven't been using workshop rearranged, but have found that plots do not snap to wood like with WR - yes, place anywhere works... just the snappy helps so much!

So I second the WR advice. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/16181

I also use
warehouse extended https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/28220,
kraggles https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/28588,
grounded https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/29340,
and vanilla barns https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/23238.
