Old Post Why do I have so many settlers?

I have suggested this in the past, mainly for a variety of different reasons, but its all for the same ending.

@Nosmorituri - Sorry if i repeat some of what you have said :)

For those of you who want to build it all by yourself but worry about the flood of settlers, CTD's and all that razzle:

Outpost Zimonja
1) Sanctuary
2) Outpost Zimonja
Capture.JPG
(a) Ignore Charisma - Make sure it's Disabled
(b) Build a simple base - 5 to 6 beds.
(c) Build defences.
(d) Build a Recruitment Beacon.
(e) DO NOT build recruitment Beacons in any other settlement.
(f) Pop back every now and then and move some to where you need them.

I have found that Outpost Zimonja recruits at a steady pace, maybe because it sits on the edge of the map, maybe because it is less buggy, could be for a number of reasons, however I have played through Fallout 4 a lot and this always seems to be the most stable of them all.

its so simple too, you control who goes to where and can make sure every city you have build never goes over max, it also assures that certain citys don't go so mad that you crash when you get near them and in some cases it makes your game unplayable, all you have to do is take a few minutes once ina while and move settlers around.

The fun part for me was actually enjoying building something that resembled a recruitment area, walls with welcoming signs, jail cells, and so many lights you could see it for miles - well as far as the draw distance would allow, so maybe metres lol.

We should really sticky this, a lot of posts related to being flooded by settlers as of late. People seem to misunderstand the ignore charisma option.

I used to do something similar to your post. Previously I used red rocket as the recruitment center (to prevent triangle of death between Sanctuary-RR-Abernathy back when optimized plans were not yet the default plans). But over time, the waiting for the recruitment thingy kinda bummed me out (I usually start a playthrough, take over all settlements, level them to lvl3, complete all Industrial Revolution plots, then repeat), so I just used Spawn Settlers [https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/29820] lately. Cheers!

Maybe we should make it a sticky in this section. I am not against mods that spawn, its just I like to feel they arrived for a reason, hense why I built the place like a recruitment area and picked that location.

I am on my 9th playthrough is reality, once I finsihed this one, 10th will be with Conqueror, but i am so fussy, i don't like anything that spawns settlers, saying that though, the last 300 flat complex we built in real life, dam I wish I had a button that just spawned buyers and little bars above their heads that said either Fussy or Easy going. I reckon I would of had the flats sold in 2-3 days and with a nice supply of tea, wow, easy life lol.

Cool, we have the same plan too. Next playthrough would be Conqueror too. You're in construction? I am in an allied industry, electrical fabrication. If you wish for the spawn button, I wish for the magic powering up of plots IRL. haha, see ya around mate. Looks like this question is solved in any case.

I have posted a sticky above, have a look and see what you think?

I am more QA in construction now, I mean I look like my pic in real life, so no one argues with me if i tell them it looks rubbish lol

Well, my intention was to do every settlement this time and export them/convert to city plans, so I guess I'll just go ahead, shut down beacons, and migrate people.

The sticky looks great. Maybe plug in IR's recruitment station (lots of settlers recruited). Thank you for your input!

You mean add one to the Outpost or use it in a settlement? lol

Please dont forget i am a few 1000 years old and brain gets a bit wonky :)

I mean use it in OZ since it's the sole recruiting settlement, recruitment can be done a little bit faster to help populate the Commonwealth. I've used SS for so long I forgot the usual interval for vanilla recruitment.

Thank you. Sorry, I had a 100 and 1 things thrown at me when I came on, new sections, adaptions, my mind has just gone :explode:

Better. Hopefully this would help people out with their recruitment issue. Ignore Charisma option probably got misunderstood by a lot of people. With your guide, players can afford more stable playthroughs
