Patch 3.3.0 - The Great Big R&D Patch

Alright so just to provide information, I’m on Xbox and ended up power cycling, just because that often solves my problems, and when I went back in the level 3 upgrades fired, though they spaced themselves out and didn’t all happen at once.

Whether that did anything or they just needed a little more time I don’t know, but for what it’s worth.

Great news. I'll keep waiting patiently. Worked like a charm! thanks for sharing the tip.

Swapped city-plan plots are not self-powered. I'll add that to my list to resolve!

Just read the patch notes. Looks great.
<-*Sigh*-> - I'm gonna have to restart again aren't I?

This may sound dumb but what exactly is power cycling? I tried refreshing and rebuilding local data so far but no luck. Did you manage to get an already built plot to upgrade or was it a fresh one?

It's when you hold down the power button for 10 secs to turn off the XBox. Resets the box or some such magic. I have managed to get already built plots to upgrade, but only after doing the refresh all plots, rebuild local data (for good measure), and saving the game, exiting, and then restarting. I don't know which of these steps are cause and which are mere coincidence. I'm sure there's someone on the forum with more sense than me that can explain it better.

Do you mean because of the decision to deprecate plots with built in foundations? They still work but I concerned that in the video it sounded like someday they'd be removed invalidating the existing plots.

Is there any way to write a tool to swap out the existing plots with a foundation and new plot and transfer the state and inventory?

Actually he verifies in the video that he plans to never actually remove the deprecated plots, just the ability to build them. Still, yeah as someone that has some half-finished plans I was hoping to try to get online, I'd love to have something that would let you swap out the existing plots with a foundation/plot combo.

Question from my friend: where would dirt foundation be if SMM is not installed? Is there some sort of requirement? He couldn't find it under Special category.

edit: thanks and sorry for the typo :P

Currently those require SMM. I'm not sure where to put them otherwise, as there's no good category in the base game.

No, he tells in the video they are almost done with them and coming in next patches
I believe he mentioned an August time frame for the optimized plans. I have a bunch of settlements I am holding off on waiting for those.

Definitely not getting Tool and Die benefits anywhere but the settlement with Tool and Die. Could that be related to my use of IDEK instead of vanilla supply lines, should i drop a bug report?

You still have to build the tool and die everywhere you want it’s benefit. What’s different is that, for example, once you build a tier 3 that requires other plots, you can go to the next settlement and build it without also having the other plots

Oooh, that's handy! I had two steel mills started at the same time in diff settlements, one settlement with a lumber mill. My intention was to check that exact thing :)
