Primary Bug Report Can't complete quest "taking point: Sunshine tidings co-op"

So i just installed the mod and went to sunshine tidings co op to build a city. i put down a town mayor desk and assigned one of my followers to it and went through all the flying part. after that was over i noticed that there was an already built recruitment beacon so i scraped it and tried to place another to complete the quest.
It didn't register as building it so i refreshed the plots and still nothing. any ideas on what to do?

had the same thing happen at the drive in built a desk in case even though i know there is no plan for it yet, didnt help. Doesnt complete the build beacon stage of the quest

Same thing happened to me. Will have to wait for a fix. I haven't tried it, since I just set it up there, but setting up a beacon first...then setting down your terminal and letting them lay the foundation. May be the only workaround. Though somebody needs to test that.

Edit: Nevermind, I just tried myself. Loaded a save from just before and first placed down a beacon and still nothing.

Same issue at Sunshine co-op. I built a powered beacon, but this did not progress the quest. Tried to store, rebuild, reload etc; still no progression.

is the quest Taking Point? Edit: right there in the title :P.

If anyone has a quest OTHER then taking point let me know and I'll get you a console command to progress until kinggath can fix the issue.

For now, those who are stuck on Taking Point, try this console command until kinggath has a fix (I've let him know about the issue and the reason for the problem):

setstage MinRecruit06 400

Can I get the setstage for the Drive in please?

Just a little update. i managed to get the beacon to register by self destructing in the holotape.
hope this helps anyone.

Self destructing what? (there is a reason for this btw, but I'm curious exactly what you did because it's probably going to introduce a bug :P)

It actually registered when i rebuilt the city when it placed the new beacon. How can i tell if i have double recruitment?

It would be pretty tough for you to tell honestly, I'll just test it on my end and find out

Ok i guess ill just have to wait and see if i get a ton of new people coming in.

Same thing here. Took me a while to figure out what was wrong but disabling sim settlement fixes the issue.

Question, in my new game I have only activated sim settlements and so far I have no built anything related to sim settlement. So I am thinking of simply disabling the mod, completing the quest and then reactivating the mod but I am a bit worried about future possible bugs. Anyone has any idea if it could cause problems in the future.

Gobb's method also worked for me. I placed the foundation level. Then did a local self destruct of the whole settlement and then rebuilt it. Right after I self destructed it, the quest finished for me.

Careful with that method, if it works it's because it's destroying something that makes kinggaths recruitment system work, so I'd suggest avoiding that until he has a chance to look at it
