Primary Bug Report Invisible collision objects spread around in settlements

I'm experiencing invisible collision objects located so far in Sanctuary and Vault 88. These objects have about the size of half a pillar as I am able to jump and stand on them but also walk around them. They're unscrappable and undetectable.

I've located it being SS2 as Disabling SS2(main file) removes these invisible objects. Enabling SS2 puts these objects back in my game.

Any way I can help with this or find a fix?

Additional info: As already said disabling SS2 removes these objects. If I make a save with SS2 disabled and then restart the game with SS2 enabled the objects will still be gone. however all my plots and everything done within SS2 will also be gone.

So far it seems that these objects are created throughout an SS2 playthrough and not there from the start.

I have placed posts on the exact places where my invisible collision objects are located. Note that on the last picture the invisible collision object is actually floating as I can walk under it, which is why I have placed the post in the air. Additional information about the last post is that I noticed it after placing a vanilla wooden floor, the invisible collision object is also located exactly on this floor which for the purpose of the screenshot I have deleted.

Would it be possible to specifiy where yours are? Maybe they're all in the same spot or maybe they're completely random for everyone. Worth investigating.
Nope, they aint the same spot. First one I encountered was actually blocking the doorway to the main building in Sunshine Tidings. I have had 3-4 games since and never had it there again. I had one randomly in Sanctuary and another at County Crossing.

I suppose if you created posts where they were located and then sent that save to someone who knows how to code or whatever they might be able to figure it out.

Merl0ck,

Do you have city plans in this settlements or do you use individual plots? If it's a city plan, it's probably a stray collision object that was baked into the city plan. If it's individual plots then I would suspect a plot placed it there while it was building by mistake (either due to it being part of the model or due to an error in placement when it was being spawned).

I've noticed a few other cases with animation markers and such that are placed incorrectly with the new city plans. I wonder if perhaps they were pared down from the SS1 versions of the city plans and so a few strays got missed.

In Sanctuary I started with a City Plan. However in Vault 88 I barely even built anything at all not even a single plot.

My incidents were without using a plan.

strange i had this in the player house in sanctuary and on the street close to the workshop. the player house one was by the sofa at the entrance

no city plans

Ive had these too, in roughly the same places as those screenshots up there, and I only use a City Plan for the one quest that requires you to. The ones in Vault 88 were DEFINITELY there before building a single plot in there, though.
Pretty sure I ran into one in Sunshine Tidings too, but I might be misremembering.
Part of me feels like SS2 is maybe still placing "faction decoration" objects (albiet invisible) like SS1 had or something?

Whatever it is I've not found anything about it after a lot of searching, but it seems a lot of people are having this issue. Does Kinggath know about this?

EDIT: I have to add that I have searched in the cells of these places in the CK and have not found anything suspicous. It's save game baked but also related to SS2. You can't select it using the console either.

I just experienced one of these just outside the Red Rocket build are near where the Fusion Flea is. I have found a few outside settlement areas. One was over by Charles View Amphitheater.

One caveat though, I have only experienced these when using BostonFPSfix and Insignicant Object Remover. Is this the case for anyone else?

I have never even installed either of those, so that can't be it.

Not sure about the ones that show up before you even start building things, but in Hangman's Alley it seems to correlate with where pre-city-plan buildings were when I initiated the city plan and everything was scrapped.

Nobody would pass through the gate to the other side of the settlement at all, which I fixed by placing a wooden floor under the gate over top of the no-pass zone. They also got weirdly caught up in one area under an overhang. But the really damning thing was when a settler floated up into the air to perform a leaning-against-the-rail animation where I'm pretty sure a guard post used to be.

For now I'm just laying wooden floors down all over the place to "fix" the issue, though I imagine that would be a much harder proposition in a settlement larger than five square feet.

Many of us have said that we are not using city plans.

Yup, and I acknowledged that. In the thing you quoted, even. "Not sure about the ones that show up before you even start building..."

I'm just sharing my own observations on the issue, in that some of the invisible walls match with the locations of auto-scrapped buildings. Also, a potential workaround. Placed floors seem to bridge the blockages. Maybe that's just Hangman's Alley though? I haven't encountered the issue elsewhere yet.

confirming
spots are exactly the same

I have these issues right now. I am building at the red rocket and there is this one place that has it, a single spot you can't walk see the container on the ground as a location reference.
I have had this issue for as long as I can remember well before sim settlements 1 or 2. I just thought it was me.
